Customer case: Fraktkedjan Väst

Switched drum sieve to screen to recycle more

Fraktkedjan Väst in Öxnevalla replaced the drum sorter with a Terex Finlay 883+ coarse sorter from Norditek.

- We wanted a solution to better sort what would otherwise go to landfill. This plant has a wider range of uses and we are now better equipped to work with recycling in the future. We had a good discussion with Norditek's sales staff and, above all, we are satisfied with their after-sales service," says project manager Rolf Hillén.

Rolf Hillén from Fraktkedjan Väst

Fraktkedjan Väst is an incorporated truck centre that also sells rock and gravel material from a number of quarries, including the natural gravel quarry in Öxnevalla where cast gravel is produced. This production takes place in a three-deck fine sorting plant where four fractions are produced, mainly for concrete production.

But to get the fine material, you also have to deal with the coarser material, which was previously done in a drum sorting plant.
- Our fine sorting plant is 20 years old and we have probably run a million tons through it. So we were considering replacing it. But a review showed that it was still in pretty good shape, so we decided to renovate it and keep it running.

More recycling

The plant is now in place in Öxnevalla and works together with the fine sorting plant. The coarse sorting plant sorts all the coarser cobblestone material into fractions 90/150, 150/250 and 0/90, which are then sorted in the fine sorting plant into fractions 0/8, 8/16, 16/32 and 32/90. This production arrangement means less wear and tear and higher capacity.

Established service plan

 - Norditek's service organization has also been very good at providing support. We have drawn up a service plan for the machine that is linked to their telematics solution. They see when the machine needs servicing, contact Our drivers and arrange a suitable time. The actual execution is quick and they have met all our requirements," concludes Rolf Hillén.
