With the power of the wind for the best biofuel
Norditek's windshifter VS 1220 is by far the most sold on the Swedish market. UmeAssistance has two of them and has been involved in the development work.
- We have had a long collaboration with Norditek and they have always been responsive to our thoughts and wishes, says Martin Hansson, Business Area Manager for Recycling at UmeAssistance.
Martin Hansson at UmeAssistance appreciates Norditek's service and ability to quickly provide spare parts.
The company UmeAssistance was founded in 1967 by Jan Hansson. Today it is run and owned by his sons Mattias, Magnus and Martin Hansson. UmeAssistance has four different business areas; Recycling, Construction, Transportation and Salvage.
Every year, the company's waste center receives large amounts of waste to be processed and sorted. The different materials recycled are metal, plastics, glass, tires, wood for biofuel, corrugated cardboard, electronics and more. Five percent of the waste goes to landfill. Other combustible material is crushed for heat recovery.
the wind shifter 1220 is used to sort waste that will be turned into biofuel.
– You can compare it to a large hay fan that blows air at high pressure onto the waste. The lighter waste is then efficiently separated from the heavier material. For example, we remove stones, bricks, etc., from the material that is to be ground down into biofuel. the wind shifter more sophisticated and has more variables than, for example, a conveyor belt used for this type of sorting. the wind shifter also the wind shifter for sorting gravel, explains Martin Hansson.
From prototype to new product
The product was developed by Norditek, and UmeAssistance was involved in the development process.
– “We tested their first prototype and were then asked to suggest changes and improvements. The end result turned out really well,” says Martin.
UmeAssistance also purchases other equipment from Norditek. The Finlay 694 Plus screening plant is used for gravel and crushed rock products. They also have a star screen from Norditek used for producing soil for lawns and flower beds.
– In combination with the wind shifter , we also the wind shifter the star screen to sort bark and biofuel. We’ve also purchased stump cutters and generators from Norditek, says Martin.
– The advantage of buying from them is, of course, their local presence and the fact that they provide the products we need for Our . But I also want to highlight their machine service and their ability to quickly provide spare parts if something breaks.
Norditek's concept for sorting bark and biomass removes gravel and stones from urban bark and old bark landfills. This increases the quality of the biofuel, which in turn means that the biofuel can be sold at a higher price. The concept includes Backer's star screen and two Norditek VS1220 wind screens.
