Drum magnets have many applications and can handle large volumes because the drum rotates constantly and removes iron particles automatically. Drum magnets are suitable for the separation of ferromagnetic (Fe) or paramagnetic particles from a material flow.
Drum magnets are a good solution because of their compact installation dimensions. This allows them to be placed where the space is too small for other options, such as overband magnets.

Product description
A drum magnet consists of a stationary magnetic segment, around which a stainless steel shell with carrier rotates. The flow of material falls over the shell, while the magnet attracts the ferromagnetic metal particles out of the material. Carriers on the shell carry the trapped metal particles to the underside of the drum, outside the magnetic field. There the separated particles fall down and can be collected and/or carried away.
By using different magnetic systems, it is possible to capture both ferromagnetic (strongly magnetic) and paramagnetic (weakly magnetic) particles.
To achieve good separation, it is important that the material is delivered in a steady flow, which can be achieved with, for example, a vibrating chute or conveyor belt.
