Recycling of subsoil and excavated material in central Gothenburg
On a former industrial site in Högsbo, central Gothenburg, a successful project was carried out focusing on the recycling of the old bearing layer and surrounding excavated material. By using Our crushing and screening technology, almost all of the material could be reused directly on site, contributing to significant environmental and economic savings.
50,000 tons of carrier stock could be recycled in three weeks by crushing
A total of 50 000 tons of rock material was crushed, from the old stockpile. This material did not meet new requirements for smaller size, so it had to be crushed to smaller size. All material was recyclable and therefore 100% reused on site, minimizing the need to transport away or add new material.
Recycling of excavated soil
In addition to the crushing of the rock material, the excavated material was also handled in a separate project. With the help of a Screening plants and two wind screens, the masses were purified from contaminated fractions, which enabled the excavation masses to be largely reused directly on site.
In addition to the recycled substrate, it was also possible to recycle excavated material on a large scale
Project duration and location
The project was carried out over an intensive period of three weeks, including both crushing and screening of excavated material. The project was carried out in Högsbo, central Gothenburg - A former industrial site was restored using recycled materials, contributing to sustainable urban development.
Savings in the Project
By recycling the material on site, 5,500 heavy transports through the city center of Gothenburg were saved, representing a huge reduction in emissions and traffic congestion. In total, 50 000 tons of rock material were reused, as well as large quantities of excavated material.
