Recycling waste sand instead of landfilling it after each winter is much more economical and, more importantly, much better for the environment.
Every winter, large amounts of grit are used on our roads. When collected, it often contains contaminants in the form of sticks, plastics, etc. These contaminants are relatively easy to recycle with a mobile recycling facility.
The same method that Norditek uses to separate plastics from compost soil can also be used for waste sand. This means that the waste sand can be recycled on site and then reused again next winter.
Recycling grit can also be more efficient because it takes less time and effort to recycle grit than to remove and replace all the gravel.
