A powerful Finnish player who can make the quick changeover

Tana’s crushers stand out for their versatility. “Versatility is Our an overwhelming advantage,” explains Eetu Tuovinen, product manager at Tana. They can handle virtually all types of solid waste, which is a major advantage.

A major strength of Tana crushers is their ability to handle “bottlenecks” in the recycling process. They can handle problems such as tangled ship’s ropes, car tires, layered objects, and mattresses with metal springs. Tana crushers can process these materials without needing to separate them from the waste. “All solid materials can be shredded, with the exception of heavily reinforced concrete and oversized metal items,” says Tuovinen.

Tuovinen emphasizes the TANA crushers’ ability to handle diverse and difficult-to-process waste. “The crushing process is the same regardless of the feed source and material flow. The more diverse and challenging the material reduction needs are, the better the TANA crushers perform compared to other solutions, and the faster the investment pays for itself,” he explains.

Tana crushers are used worldwide for a wide variety of waste types. In the Benelux region, for example, they process fishing nets, ship’s ropes, and greenhouse waste. “These are obviously very niche fields,” says Tuovinen. He also mentions that customers in countries such as Finland, Estonia, the U.S., Australia, Cyprus, and Turkey use the crushers to process car tires and other road waste.

Tana crushers embody Tana’s promise: “From waste to value.” They enable the reuse of waste by breaking it down into suitable particle sizes. This supports the EU Waste Directive and helps ensure that waste can be used as a new material resource or as energy. “Many people are unaware of the full potential of waste streams,” says Tuovinen.

With TANA crushers, waste streams can be processed into a wide range of particle sizes, from 50 to 500 mm. “Adjusting the particle size is quick and easy thanks to the screen on the TANA crushers,” explains Tuovinen.

In 2024, Tana plans to launch a new powerful machine to improve the recycling of municipal waste, which will enable the separation of organic waste and increase recycling rates. Stay tuned!
